Guide to Mounting a Starlink Dish in High-Wind Areas
If you live in an open and exposed area where wind speeds can exceed 65mph, it’s important to safely and securely mount your Starlink dish, also known as a phased array antenna. At our recent installation in Cockerham, Lancaster. We used a method that may be of interest to homeowners in similarly windy areas.
To mount the dish, we used a large heavy-duty 12×12 wall bracket along with a thick steel mast. This combination with a high strength lashing wire, creates a very secure fitting to the property. The thick steel mast also provides a strong mounting position for the dish.
To further ensure the dish stays put, we utilized the new method of securing it it using using a stainless steel grub screw. This can be easily taken out if the customer decides they want to use the provided ground mount provided at a later date.

The customer lives in a beautiful remote location, fields for miles around. Unfortunately it came with a trade off, very slow internet speeds. The customer was only able to get 1.5Mb download speeds on a good day, which simply wasn’t good enough for working from home. Once again, Starlink to the rescue. As the video below shows, we came along and did a nice, neat and professional installation on the peak of his gable end. They are now enjoying speeds of 200Mb. Starlink may not be the answer to all of life’s problems but it certainly answers the problem of poor, unreliable internet.
