Method of Starlink installation fittings explained
Starlink installation done in Lymm, Warrington. Here we have mounted the Starlink dish or for the more technically minded the phased array antenna. We have used a 12×12 heavy-duty bracket, and a thick steel mast. There are many ways to safely and securely mount your equipment. So, why this method you may be wondering? The customer lives in a very open and exposed area. Wind speeds can exceed 65mph frequently. Using a 12×12 bracket allows us to use four fixing bolts. This gives us a very secure fitting to the property. The thick steel mast gives us a very strong mounting position for the dish. We have used a new method of securing the dish using self tappers snuggly into the pole.
Previous speeds and Starlink speeds
Being so remote in relation to reliable suppliers, BT speeds were 5-12Mb on a good day. Currently they have no access to Virgin media yet either. The customer tried 4G routers but there was no improvement due to their location. The customer was happy to wait for us to turn up before unboxing. After we installed the dish high up on the property he performed a speed test. He was greeted to 169Mb within seconds. For those who may be wondering, yes it does help having the dish higher.
